Packaging format

Select the category that describes your packaging. Art. 9(1) lists formats that must be compostable by 12 Feb 2028.

Mandatory: Art. 9(1)
Member State option: Art. 9(2)
Full text: Art. 9(1): packaging that shall be compostable (confirm against this list)

From 12 February 2028, the following packaging shall be compostable:

  1. adhesive labels affixed to fruit and vegetables
  2. permeable bags for tea, coffee or other beverages
  3. soft single-serve units for tea, coffee or other similar products that are disposed of together with the product
